From all across the USA
The people rise as one,
To demand that Congress listens as
We demand what must be done:
We all want a true democracy
Where each person has a say,
So we’re rising up as one to build true Democracy today!

Oh, we won’t sit idly silent while
Our youth are thrown in jail,
And where only those with money are
Set free when they pay bail.
And we want nine judges on the bench
Who’ll protect the American way,
So we’re rising up as one to build Democracy today!

We want money out of politics;
We know bribery is wrong.
And rigged elections make us sick
So we’re raging loud and strong!
We Grannies fought these battles long ago,
And we’ll keep raging night and day,
Until ev’ry person has a vote, and is welcome here to stay.

Oh, it’s time that Congress heeds our call
To do the work that must be done:
To end divisive fascist laws
So we all can live as one.
We Grannies look to Lady Liberty
As she holds her torch on high
And we demand a country free from fear, from tyranny, and lies.
Yes, every person must be safe and free if Democracy’s to survive.
