We’re ragin’ for Social Security. Hooray! Hooray!
To protect us in our maturity. Hooray! Hooray!
It’s a tax that we’ve already paid, to protect us in our golden days…
We’ve paid the tax, now they’re breaking our backs,
And we won’t be fooled no more!

We paid all through our working lives. Hip hip! Hooray!
Don’t take it away! Don’t even try! No way! No way!
They’re lying and trying to privatize, and pulling the wool right over our eyes.
We’ve paid the tax, now they’re breaking our backs,
And we won’t be fooled no more!

Ev’ry worker pays the tax. It’s true! It’s true!
But they might never get it back! Will you? Or you?
The undocumented, they pay too, and even our grandchildren do,
But will they ever see the benefits?
That’s up to me and you!

Our Social Security isn’t broke! Hooray! Hooray!
So this plan is nothing but mirrors and smoke! No way! No way!
The fat cats get richer by the day, while the old and the poor are the ones to pay.
We’ve paid the tax, now they’re breaking our backs,
And we won’t be fooled no more!

Social Security cushions us all. Hooray! Hooray!
But we’re being set up for an awful fall. No way! No way!
Private investment can just go bust, and then what happens to all of us?
We’ve paid the tax, now they’re breaking our backs,
And we won’t be fooled no more!

Social Security’s easily fixed. Hooray! Hooray!
Just lift the cap that protects the rich! Today! Today!
The rich should pay the same as the poor, on ALL of their income; we ask no more.
So it’s time we all stood up to say:
“We won’t be fooled no more!”
