THE ILLUSION

Tune: Sound of Silence

There’s a darkness spreading wi-i-ide,

a collective su-i-ci-i-ide

extending out like cancerous ti-is-sues

disguised as man-y complex i-is-sues.

But all the while these many problems spring

            from just one thing

            the ill-u-u-sion… of sep-a-ra-a- tion!

There is real-ly no such thii-ing

as an independent being.

All life is interdepe-en-dent

living under one e-normous tent.

But our minds are so imprisoned… by cap-i-tal-ism

            and com-pe-ti-tion…

            ill-u-u-sions… of sepa-ra-a-tion!

With eight billion of us a-round

why does lon-li-ness a-bound?

Because we’ve fall-en for the li-i-ies.

We simply cannot recog-ni-i-ize

that all lives are entwined like threads so fine,

            your fate is mine!

            There’s no such thii-ing… as sepa-ra-a- tion!

What I do to someone e-else

I am doing to my-se-elf

We have all been living i-in a hell!

a ver-y lone-ly dark and dee-eep well!

It’s time we stop believing the cap‘talist lies

            Open our eyes

            WE  A-A-A-ARE….. ALL  O-ONE!
