Up at the North Pole

Up at the North Pole, Santa sees

Elves are sick, they cough and wheeze.

They need medicine for their ills,

But tariffs raised the cost of pills.

Ho, ho, ho! How’s your health?

Ho, ho, ho! Depends on wealth.

If you’re rich, you can be sure,

You will always find a cure.

Santa’s without his working elves.

They have got to rest themselves.

He’ll have to purchase a zillion toys

To fill his sleigh for the girls and boys.

Ho, ho, ho! Costs are high.

Ho, ho, ho! Santa asks why.

            Billionaires want tax cuts now.

            Santa will muddle through somehow.

Down near the border, reindeer pause.

Strange masked men have Santa Claus.

Children are waiting in every state,

Hoping Santa won’t be late.

Ho, ho ho! What do you know?

Ho, ho, ho! ICE said “Go

Back to the North Pole, old St. Nick/

We’ll keep the gifts. Now, get out quick!”

This song is just a fairy tale.

Santa’s love will never fail.

He and his reindeer cross the miles,

Bringing gifts all wrapped in smiles.

Ho, ho, ho! Now it’s time

Ho, ho, ho! To end this rhyme.

Look at your children, hold them tight.

Love has the power to make things right.
