**Other greetings might be inserted in the first stanza, for example Shubh Diwali (“Shoob dee-vah-lee”; Eid Mubarak (“Eed moo-bahr-ak”); Ramadan Kareem or Ramadan Mubarak; or Blessed Isra & Miraj. But care must be taken to only include these when they fall within the month you will be singing! The Muslim and Hindu calendars are lunar/lunisolar and do not follow the 12-month cycle most of us are used to. As of this writing, none of the above-mentioned festivals will fall in December until at least 2027. However well-intentioned, it would be insensitive to sing about them at the wrong time of the year.
